Iris 1.0.0
Previews of Adobe files, right inside Windows Explorer.

HOW TO INSTALL
1. Double-click Iris.exe.
2. Press Install. It takes about two seconds.
3. Open any folder with Adobe files. The pictures appear by themselves.

Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time (it says that about
every new program that has not yet built up a reputation). Click "More info",
then "Run anyway".

WHAT YOU GET
Thumbnails and a full preview panel (press Alt+P in Explorer) for:

Photoshop .psd .psb .psdt the flattened picture, size, colour mode, layers
Illustrator .ai .ait .eps the artwork, fonts used, swatches, artboard size
InDesign .indd .indt the page preview, pages, fonts, page size
After Effects .aep .aet the comp you were working in, comps, fps, duration
Premiere Pro .prproj the frame under the playhead, sequences, offline media
Templates .mogrt poster frame, controls, fonts
  XD .xd artboards
Swatches .ase .aco every colour with its hex code

AFTER EFFECTS
Every time you save a project, Iris quietly asks After Effects for the
frame under the playhead of the comp you are in, and that becomes the thumbnail.
It takes about a second and never opens a window.

If nothing appears, open Iris (Start menu) and check After Effects there.
After Effects needs its "Allow Scripts to Write Files" preference on; the
Settings window can turn it on for you.

OLDER PROJECTS
Projects you saved before installing still get a preview. When you open a folder
in Explorer, Iris works through the projects in it in the background:
After Effects projects are rendered at their saved playhead, Premiere projects
take the frame from the source clip (it even finds media you have moved).

To do everything at once, open Iris and press "Load all my projects",
then pick the folder your work lives in. It reads every project inside it,
Premiere first (a second each), After Effects two at a time in draft
resolution, and shows you exactly where it is while it works. You can close
the window - it keeps going, and carries on after a restart.

Some projects have nothing to show: an empty project, or one whose footage is
not on this PC. Those keep an information card instead, and the preview panel
tells you why.

A project whose footage is missing is easy to spot without opening anything:
its card carries a soft glitch and a small "3 of 7 files missing" tag.

TIDYING UP
Iris > Remove empty projects finds projects with nothing in them - no
sequences, no comps, no media - plus After Effects' leftover temp saves, and
moves the ones you tick to the Recycle Bin. Nothing is deleted for good, so you
can always put them back.

REMOVING IT
Settings > Apps > Iris > Uninstall. Explorer goes back to plain icons.
No admin rights are needed to install or remove it.

REQUIREMENTS
Windows 10 or 11. Nothing else to install.
You do not need Adobe apps installed to see the previews - only the After
Effects frame capture needs After Effects itself.

LICENCE
Each key is made for one computer. Before buying, open Iris > the gear >
Licence key and copy "This PC's code" - checkout asks for it.
Type your key (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) into Iris > Licence and press Activate.
Capitals and dashes do not matter. It is checked on your own computer -
no account, no sign-in, no internet. A yearly licence runs for twelve months
from the day you activate it; a lifetime one never runs out. Without a key
Iris runs as a 14-day trial.
